Relationship of Socionic Traits to Factors of Modern Personality Models (HEXACO)

Presented are questions for measuring the factors of the six-factor HEXACO personality model that correspond well to the English-language measurement instruments used by the authors of this model, along with (in the image) experimentally obtained projections of the corresponding factors onto socionic traits.

This most modern psychological factor model actually has 7 factors: five of them are the same as in BIG_FIVE, the sixth is the honesty factor, and the seventh is a special (additional) factor, oblique relative to the others - it is partly correlated with the other factors.

I am often irritable and angry, and intolerant toward others.

In interacting with other people, I often lack self-restraint, patience, and the willingness to compromise and forgive.

If compared with people of my age, sex, and social circle, then relative to their average level I am more “rough” than soft and “gentle.”

I am often quarrelsome.

I am a gentle person who knows how to forgive.

If compared with the average human level, my character is more peaceful and accommodating than stubbornly conflict-prone.

In communication, I am a flexible and patient person.

Sometimes I perform work carelessly; I often lack diligence.

In work, I prefer variety instead of excessive diligence and unnecessary meticulousness about quality.

At times (not all that rarely) I am recklessly lazy.

In my behavior, I am often imprudent.

I sometimes have an excess of absent-mindedness - I lack internal self-control and organization.

I am better organized than the average person in my social circle, and I control myself better.

Compared with others, I am an excessively diligent and disciplined person.

Compared with my acquaintances, I am more careful and thorough in my work.

I have a heightened striving for quality and perfection in everything I do.

Anxiety is not characteristic of me.

I extremely rarely have reasons to worry and become nervous.

I am, perhaps, more sentimental and worry more often than my friends and acquaintances.

I often become nervous because I feel my vulnerability or dependence.

I often experience fears or anxiety.

I am somewhat more emotional and sensitive than, on average, my acquaintances of the same sex as me.

When necessary, I know how to dissemble skillfully, and if needed, to lie as well - I do not especially approve of simpletons who are fixated on their honesty.

Compared with the average level, I am sometimes, perhaps, characterized by excessive pretentiousness or pomposity in my behavior.

At times I feel like destroying something belonging to someone - just because, out of spite.

I perhaps boast more often than my friends - but boasting and the ability to present and embellish oneself often benefit the matter at hand.

I consider loyalty and devotion among my important virtues; I do not approve of self-interested schemers.

I am a sincere and fair person; there is much less duplicity and greed in me than in others.

By character, I am more modest, honest, and sincere than the average person in my social circle.

Developing something new is probably not my thing; I would prefer to act according to ready-made technologies.

I prefer to work with concrete things rather than imaginary or speculative ones.

I prefer methods of work that are conventional and have already been tested.

My character is distinguished by liveliness and boldness in approaching new people.

Everyone in this life should think and care first of all about themselves, without being afraid to encroach on another person’s interests - after all, the world is based on competition for a reason.

If compared with the average human level, I am no less selfish (and sometimes more so).

Compared with my acquaintances, I am more altruistic by character, almost always ready to share, try to help, and respect other people’s interests.

I would donate accumulated monetary funds amounting to my income for one year in order to pay for necessary medical treatment for my friend.

More often than others, I am inclined to sacrifice my own interests for other people or the common good.

The numbers in the cells are not correlations, although they are numbers proportional to Fisher transforms of the correlations. This is the so-called socionic trait profile for each factor of the HEXACO model (for the method of constructing it, see Talanov’s articles).

The image shows averaged trait profiles for the questions used to diagnose each personality factor. These are not exactly loadings of the factors on the socionic traits, but rather numbers proportional to them. The loading values (for factors with unit variance) will be higher and proportional to those shown.
