Black Sensorics Increases Even in Hares When Testosterone Goes off the Scale.
The degree of development of any socionic function of the psyche depends on at least several dozen genes (incidentally, a high heritability coefficient has been demonstrated for a number of important and major components of Se, including the level of aggressiveness). The polygenic nature of the heritability of all the major components of the functions of the psyche leads to the fact that isolated regions corresponding to selected psychotypes practically do not exist in psychological feature space, and types transition continuously into one another within this space of orthogonal psychological axes (as a result, many people have an intermediate type - from the standpoint of the standard set of 16 psychotypes).
Genes, in turn, activate regulatory peptides, and these – first, influence the formation of brain structures (in some places, under their influence, neuronal construction proceeds more intensively, in others – less intensively), and second – regulate the specialization and current activity of these already formed structures. Finally, there is also ongoing regulation of the temperamental characteristics of the brain (including Se) by means of the brain’s neurohormonal system.
Modern neuroscience is young – most of its research areas are no more than two decades old. But some things about black sensorics and its brain mechanisms are already known to science today (more precisely, not about black sensorics itself, since most Western scientists have not yet even heard of socionics and its functions, but about its principal components – competitiveness and aggressiveness of behavior). First, there are two small but very important groups of neurons; by acting directly on them, aggressive motivations in the behavior of all mammalian animals can be completely suppressed or sharply intensified.
One of them is located in the hypothalamus (the principal center of human instincts and motivations), the other – in the corpus striatum (striatum). These are two completely different subcortical brain structures, located not even adjacent to one another. Second, different neurotransmitters have different effects on such components of Se as aggression, egocentric behavior, the speed of motor reactions, coordination of movements, and attention span and working-memory capacity. Acetylcholine and, in part, dopamine and vasopressin mainly enhance these components, whereas serotonin and oxytocin – mainly reduce them. And finally, male sex hormones (androgens, and especially testosterone) also always significantly increase both behavioral aggressiveness and a number of other components of Se.
