Base Te (Linear-Assertive “Descending” Logic, LA-L) – WORKS
Semantics of LA-L: business planning, time management, organization of technological processes, increasing their reliability (such as uninterrupted cycles of movement, transportation, loading-unloading). Ideally, it leads to the creation of a conveyor-like machine that performs maximally automated actions, turning people—support personnel—into elements of this machine (through professional training, business coaching, etc.).
Physical meaning: transforming all the scattered motion within a system into an orderly, progressive motion that enables the system to perform useful work in the transportation and processing of resources.
LA-L is characterized by a drive for highly specialized functionality and a negative attitude toward indulging situational moods (as they are seen as a source of disruptions to the work rhythm). Moreover, LA-L tends to reject the decoration of reality with ornamental elements, interpreting such efforts as a pointless waste of time and material resources.

Among logical functions, LA-L stands out by the fact that it often uses public opinion as a tool in its activity, takes it into account and tries to influence employees’ activity and their motivation through it. Neither the introverted BS-L and RA-L, nor the irrational-social GR-L are characterized by this.

The duality in this pair is ensured by the fact that holders of both BS-E and LA-L do not require beauty of expression of feelings from their partner; they value fidelity in actions, not in words. The extroverted partner brings money into the family, while the introverted one helps around the house. Neither partner is prone to emotional turmoil or a quest for something beyond everyday life, and both are satisfied with this.
Creative Te (Receptive-Adaptive “Descending” Logic, RA-L) – ANALYSES
Semantics of RA-L: gathering facts, spotting defects in materials and data, seeking opportunities for savings and optimization, test-driving (trial runs) of mechanisms, monitoring and diagnostics, repairs (digging into the “guts” of systems), setting up “crutches” (programmer slang) and “patches,” recycling for reuse, and amortization of wear and tear.
Physical meaning: maintaining internal movement within the system, preventing it from slowing down or stopping, and combating non-productive energy losses.
Among logical functions, RA-L is distinct for its lack of desire to necessarily organize its knowledge into a logically coherent system that would be understandable to outsiders. A pure RA-L subject is generally unconcerned with the big picture of what’s happening; they simply seek out random elements that can be exploited for their benefit. Once such elements are found, RA-L develops a technology that allows them to achieve maximum benefit with minimal effort (both physical and mental).
The technological solutions developed by RA-L are rarely published, as they often exploit loopholes in existing global rule systems. If these loopholes were revealed, the owners of these global systems might close them, depriving the RA-L subject of their accumulated advantages and means of livelihood.
Therefore, RA-L tends to have a negative attitude toward anything that attracts mass attention or publicity. Their life credo could be summed up as “the quieter you go, the further you get” and “happy is the one who successfully hides.”

The duality in this pair lies in the fact that FA-E finds clients for RA-L, doing so discreetly without attracting unwanted attention, while RA-L preserves the pair’s resources without insisting on rigid order. Neither of these functions is particularly principled in life and both are tolerant of deceiving others, especially when it takes the form of subtle omission or distraction. Both functions are inclined to develop their own, often obscure language of vague hints and metaphors, which makes their communication mutually comfortable and safe from outside interference.
What is the fundamental difference between rules, orders, principles and duties?
All these concepts relate to different aspects of balanced-stable. However, each of them has its own semantic emphasis. Rules are understood in the context of voluntary self-restraint by the parties involved to prevent unnecessary conflicts between them (BS-I, balanced-stable intuition). Orders refer to global systems of rules and punishments for their violation (balanced-stable with an emphasis on ascending and logic). Principles emphasize the internal choice of the individual (questimity + democracy) in selecting a particular system of coordinates. Duties, on the other hand, emphasize the external choice made for the individual by society (declatimity + aristocracy), which the individual must obey.
Is it possible to say that the creative function is sharpened to criticize (since its properties include finding flaws and shortcomings)? And can we say that the creative function extinguishes initiatives (since the antagonist of the basic Fe)?
Creative Te, as an irrational function, is indeed less inclined to develop its own logical system and more inclined to test the strength of others’. This trait is particularly pronounced in the central and competitively minded ILI (hence one of this type’s nicknames, “The Critic”).
Yes, creative Te, being introverted, is cautious about excessive activity. However, it does not so much suppress all initiative as it does those initiatives aimed at uniting people in a collective emotional surge. Such mass unification reduces the RA-L subject’s ability to distance themselves. The logic of RA-L operates effectively when there is a certain degree of individual separation, allowing room for maneuvering. This is the environment where RA-L’s strategy thrives, exploiting differences in supply and demand due to the structural heterogeneity of the market. RA-L “plays” on these differences, ensuring its survival by leveraging them.
