Quantitative Socionics

A More Accurate Table of Statistics on Intertype Relations

(using random-noise filtering in its calculation)

The predominance of Identity relations in same-sex friendship pairs (with Quasi-identity relations being completely ignored) and of Duality relations in opposite-sex romantic pairs has become even more pronounced. Activation relations also rose somewhat for romantic pairs.

It is also noteworthy that socionic “Business” relations are more comfortable in all cases than socionic “Kindred” relations.

In romantic pairs, the woman is almost twice as likely to be the benefactor as the beneficiary.

Super-ego relations are not much favored in romantic pairs, but are fairly common in friendship pairs (while the situation is the reverse for Activation relations).

Mirror relations (ILE-LII, etc.) are not particularly popular - less so than has generally been assumed in socionics.

Extinguishment relations (LII-LIE, etc.) occur in friendship ties, but are extremely rare among romantic pairs (although, as I recall, the author of these lines did have one vivid love story in an Extinguishment relation 😊).

Statistics on intertype relations (ITRs are measured using the full trait profile of the members of the pair; the ITR receiving the highest score is taken as the dominant ITR)
