Ne - the main 'children's' function (analysis of Talanov's questionnaires statistics)

Ne, like Ni, is a “childish” function - in the sense that it carries neotenic personality traits - and, above all, increased neuroplasticity, which gives the ability to learn. The difference between Ne and Ni from a biological point of view is that Ni is more useful to a young individual of any species forced to survive in an unfriendly environment full of predators and dangers, while strong Ne allows you to learn new things faster if the environment is relatively safe, and even more so to be ahead in development of peers who are more distrustful in their thinking or have more conservative, prohibiting parents (whose genes of weak Ne live in him).

Unlike most animals (by human standards - extreme sensorics), humans spend a very long period of life during childhood, and it most often passes under the protection of their family or community.

It is allows them to accumulate a significant amount of knowledge, learning from their elders, and go through an extensive ” social training”, during which strong Ne turns out to be useful. Once any individual reaches sexual maturity, its learning abilities are significantly reduced. However, this applies least to those with strong Ne. For the ability to learn and relearn, to discover new activities and areas of interest that is not lost even in adulthood, evolution takes a price, and here this is the inevitable coupling of all abilities granted by Ne with the general infantilization of behavior, weakening of self-control in all areas of activity (in controlling the body , thinking, ability to follow a plan, complete things, not be late, etc.) and relatively reduced sexual interest in all Ne types. We can say that the owner of a strong Ne is in some sense an “eternal child,” that is, literally, a person who, in adulthood, retains many of the characteristics and patterns of behavior typical of children. And above all, an orientation towards mutually educational play with other members of the group, and not towards a fight, not towards finding out who is more important and has the right to have everything.

Ne is also closely linked with the general weakening of the territorial instinct, hence the non-division of people into friends and foes, typical of those with a strong value Ne - which is the basis of any altruistic idea advocating the global brotherhood of man. Against an irrational-logical background, the weakening of territoriality also gives rise to a love of vagrancy, and more broadly, of searching for new, undiscovered lands (yes, the benefit of Ne for any population is also that it encourages it to settle). Finally, the combination of Ne with the valued Ti and Qi can be defined as a research instinct aimed at understanding the objective laws of the surrounding world - which has always led to the expansion of the ecological niche of the human society and its upward scientific progress.
