Semantic Content of Socionic Ethical and Logical Functions
Well, disputes and fantasies on the topic of the substantive content of the four socionic logical-ethical functions are dying down. And especially different points of view, often diametrically opposed, are expressed regarding the differences between Fi and Fe.
Therefore, let’s see what the results of the experiments tell us, averaged across 50 thousand respondents of socionic questionnaires and 9600 questionnaire questions used.
Fe - THE MOST PRONOUNCED EXCLUSIVE MARKERS
Negative markers of Fe (correlating negatively with Fe)
Fi - THE MOST PRONOUNCED EXCLUSIVE MARKERS
Negative markers of Fi (correlating negatively with Fi):
Te - THE MOST PRONOUNCED EXCLUSIVE MARKERS
Negative markers of Te (correlating negatively with Te):
Ti - THE MOST PRONOUNCED EXCLUSIVE MARKERS
Negative markers of Ti (correlating negatively with Ti):
Part 1: BLACK ETHICS {#part-1:-black-ethics}
General characteristics of Fe - transmission of information through the language of emotions, creation of negentropy through emotional impact, emotional transformation of the environment.
KEY EVALUATIONS: good-bad (non-specific evaluation common to both ethical functions), fascinating-unfascinating, exciting-unexciting (evaluations specific to Fe).
Fe also plays a leading role in affective empathy (empathy/compassion, sympathy, emotional contagion with others’ emotions – both positive and negative). Both Fi and Fe participate in affective empathy, but the role of Fe is significantly higher – the average value for Fe in affective empathy profiles is 1.16 conditional units above the population average, compared to 0.46 for Fi. Moreover, Fe dominates both in terms of empathy/compassion and in terms of “contagion” with other people’s emotions.
Empathy-fantasy (empathy with heroes of works) – here the role of Fe is even more pronounced, while the role of Fi is very small (weakly positive)
Fe is characterized by emotional-ethical manipulations aimed at changing the mood of others. Moreover, black-ethical manipulations are aimed precisely at changing the mood of others, and not their behavior.
For Fe, the auditory channel is more important than the visual channel (in contrast to Fi, where the opposite is true).

Part 2: WHITE ETHICS {#part-2:-white-ethics}
General characteristics of Fi – emotional-ethical normativity, emotional-ethical classification of the environment, prevention of entropy growth through maintaining order in relationships.
KEY EVALUATIONS: good-bad (non-specific evaluation common to both ethical functions), decent-indecent (evaluation specific to Fi).
Fi also plays a leading role in COGNITIVE empathy (recognition of the emotional state of others, primarily through visual observation and without personal involvement in their emotions – if involvement occurs, then due to Fe). In the profiles of marker questions on cognitive empathy, the strength of Fi is on average +1.82 compared to +1.22 for Fe.
Fi is characterized by emotional-ethical manipulations aimed at changing the behavior of others (but not their mood – this is not the goal), as well as aimed at changing the structure of relationships and communication distances. For this purpose, Fi uses not only verbal remarks but also actively employs the game of looks and distances (both physical distances and emotional-relational distances – from restrained praise to boycott).
For Fi, the visual channel is more important than the auditory channel (unlike Fe, where the opposite is true).

Part 4: WHITE LOGIC {#part-4:-white-logic}
General characteristics of Ti – logical normativity, logical classification of the environment, preventing entropy growth by maintaining order in the connections of surrounding material objects.
KEY EVALUATIONS: correct-incorrect (non-specific evaluation common to both logical functions), true-false, fits into the system-falls out of it (evaluations specific to Ti).
For Ti, the visual channel of information perception plays a leading role (just as it does for Fi).
Ti - THE MOST PRONOUNCED EXCLUSIVE MARKERS {#ti---the-most-pronounced-exclusive-markers}
(the number after the questionnaire item is the so-called exclusivity index, equal to the product of the function value by the share of its variance in the total variance of 12 functions)
