Oregon Avocational Interest Scales

Determine your leisure interests

What people do in their free time says a lot about their personality, values, and way of life. Avocational interests — hobbies, pastimes, and leisure activities — are an important but often overlooked part of how people differ.

The Oregon Avocational Interest Scales measure 33 areas of leisure activity, from Reading and Music to Sports, Gardening, and Travel, by asking how often you have done each activity. Put simply, they show how you actually spend your free time.

On the following pages, you can determine your leisure interests by responding to 199 activities. This will take about 15–25 minutes, and you can pause and resume at any time.

The results will be provided immediately after you have responded to all activities on the final page. Please note that the results you receive can only be reliable to the extent that you respond seriously and honestly.

This questionnaire is part of the validation study for the Quantitative Socionics Inventory. In case of any question, please write an e-mail (contact@quantitativesocionics.org) to the research team.
