IPIP representation of the MPQ

Determine your temperament

The Multidimensional Personality Questionnaire (MPQ) of Auke Tellegen describes personality with traits grouped under three broad dimensions: positive emotionality, negative emotionality, and constraint.

This IPIP representation measures eleven of its traits, such as Joyfulness, Achievement-Seeking, Emotional Instability, Distrust, Planfulness, and Imagination, and a scale of Unlikely Virtues that flags answers given to appear virtuous. Put simply, it shows how readily you experience positive and negative emotions, and how much you hold back your impulses.

On the following pages, you can determine your temperament by responding to 127 statements. This will take about 10–15 minutes, and you can pause and resume at any time.

The results will be provided immediately after you have responded to all statements on the final page. Please note that the results you receive can only be reliable to the extent that you respond seriously and honestly.

This questionnaire is part of the validation study for the Quantitative Socionics Inventory. In case of any question, please write an e-mail (contact@quantitativesocionics.org) to the research team.
