Big Five Aspect Scales (BFAS-100)

Determine your Big Five aspects

The Big Five is the most widely used model of personality in psychology. It describes personality with five broad traits — Neuroticism, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, and Openness/Intellect — that emerge again and again when people describe themselves and others.

The Big Five Aspect Scales (DeYoung, Quilty, & Peterson, 2007) divide each trait into two aspects: Volatility and Withdrawal, Compassion and Politeness, Industriousness and Orderliness, Enthusiasm and Assertiveness, and Intellect and Openness. Put simply, they show not only how high you are on each trait, but also which side of it drives your score.

On the following pages, you can determine your Big Five aspects by responding to 100 statements. This will take about 10–15 minutes, and you can pause and resume at any time.

The results will be provided immediately after you have responded to all statements on the final page. Please note that the results you receive can only be reliable to the extent that you respond seriously and honestly.

This questionnaire is part of the validation study for the Quantitative Socionics Inventory. In case of any question, please write an e-mail (contact@quantitativesocionics.org) to the research team.
